An old rowboat tied to a tree by a river with threatening storm clouds in the background.

In this painting I tried to capture the ominous feel right before or immediately following a summer storm. There is something so beautifully thrilling, yet scary and forbidding, when the air is heavy, the wind picks up and it grows so dark during the day. The sun sometimes peeks through a crack in the dark clouds and casts a golden glow on everything it reaches. I just love summer storms! :)

  1. Sandra, you have captured the atmosphere of the storm threatening, a lovely painting!

  2. Thank you, Jenny! I was going for atmosphere and mood. :)
