Hand Painted Butterfly Wind Spinner Sun Catcher Window Hanging Art
My newest project is this hand painted, hand crafted, sculpted, and designed by the artist (me),
butterfly wind spinner/sun catcher. It twirls and spins in the breeze and sparkles in the sunlight.
This one is painted in shades of purple, lavender and cobalt blue. The wire is sculpted from permanently colored silver copper wire. I also used transparent cobalt blue glass stones, transparent amethyst glass stones, and a light pink faceted acrylic gem at the bottom for extra sparkle.
The butterfly is wood and is approximately 4.5" wide x 5" tall x 1/8" thick. It is painted on both sides with acrylics, and a satin varnish was applied. I initialed one side. The body and the edges are embellished with glitter paint, and I applied a final coat of stardust glittering varnish for a bit of magic. :)
The butterfly is approximately 4.5" wide x 5" tall x 1/8" thick.
The overall length from the ring at the top is 14".
This is lovely hanging in a window or on a porch or wherever it catches a slight breeze and sunlight. A unique, one of a kind, gift!

What a beautiful butterfly wind spinner. The butterfly looks so perfect it's hard to believe it's wood. The stones, the wire, all so perfectly placed. The entire piece is so beautiful. Fantastic job sis.
