Vintage Airstream Travel Trailer Camper Caravan Original Painting by Sandra Estes

AIRSTREAM UNDER THE STARS
Acrylic
5 x 7"
© 2012 Sandra Estes

Ah!  Camping under the stars in a vintage Airstream Travel Trailer in a summer landscape.  This painting describes camping on a warm summer night, close to nature, with mountains in the distance, under a starry night sky. The landscape and a nearby tree are illuminated by the light of the full moon and the inviting warm glow streaming out from within the cozy little camper.

I now have prints, framed prints, canvas prints, and greeting cards available of this painting, on my new website: Sandra Estes Fine Art .

Original Painting Pink and White Beach Umbrella Chair Ocean Seascape

Pink & White Beach Umbrella
Acrylic
ACEO

After almost 2 months of not being able to paint, I finally was able to complete this ACEO seascape. The focus of this painting is the fringed, bright pink and white beach umbrella. The umbrella stands on a patch of tall grass on the beach. Under the umbrella, a pink Adirondack chair sits facing out to the ocean and a distant sailboat.

Original Landscape Painting Shade Tree Lush Summer Meadow Oasis

"Summer Oasis"
Acrylic
5 x 7

This original landscape is inspired by the lovely scenic countryside of New Hampshire. In this painting, I hope the elements of the painting... a shade tree standing in a lush green meadow with distant mountains, some morning mist, and small pond in the background, remnants of an old stone wall in the foreground, and a flock of birds in the distance... come together to depict a inviting oasis...a place to relax and refresh the soul. :)

This painting is available. $75.00

Original Painting Summer Storm River Rowboat Tree

"Summer Storm"
Acrylic
ACEO 2.5 x 2.5
10% of final sale to support Environmental Defense Fund
SOLD to a collector in Oregon USA

An old rowboat tied to a tree by a river with threatening storm clouds in the background.

In this painting I tried to capture the ominous feel right before or immediately following a summer storm. There is something so beautifully thrilling, yet scary and forbidding, when the air is heavy, the wind picks up and it grows so dark during the day. The sun sometimes peeks through a crack in the dark clouds and casts a golden glow on everything it reaches. I just love summer storms! :)

"Starry Night Tree"
Acrylic
ACEO 2.5" x 3.5"
Sold to a collector in Massachusetts USA

I have decided to do a Dreamscape series of ACEO's and larger paintings. This original tree/landscape painting falls into my surreal Dreamscapes series as well. I love where this painting takes me. I imagine laying in the tall grass of a lush green meadow on a warm summer night, star-gazing... :)

Vote in the poll I've posted in the column on the right. It will help me to know what size paintings to paint! I value your input. Thanks!

10% of final sale of this painting will support Plant a Tree in Haiti and Help 155 Families Eat-a Global Giving Project
About this nonprofit: When you're poor & utterly destitute it is impossible to think beyond immediate needs. Food, fuel. A place to sleep. Long-term concerns are tomorrow's problem. In desperation, Haitian villagers cut down trees to get fuel for cooking. Then the hurricanes came and eroded the farmland. Now family farmers have nothing to cook. A peasant organization in Haiti wants help planting trees so they can farm again.

Cows In The Pasture Pastoral Landscape Painting

"Cows in the Pasture"
8 x 10
Acrylic on canvas.

This pastoral landscape painting is of cows grazing in a lush green pasture, with tree-covered hills in the background. In the foreground are a weathered wooden gate, an old stone wall, and wildflowers. My inspiration for this painting is a beautiful pasture along a scenic country road in Chichester, New Hampshire where Holsteins are grazing in the spring, summer and fall.

I now have prints, framed prints, canvas prints, and greeting cards available of this painting, on my new website: Sandra Estes Fine Art .

"The Light After the Storm" Original Seascape Pastel Painting

"The Light After The Storm"
ACEO Pastels
10% of final sale will support Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
Sold.

Last summer, my daughter and I had planned a drive along the coast. It turned out to be a stormy day. We decided to go anyway, despite the weather, as we would not have another chance for quite some time. It was warm and humid, and pouring rain with thunder and lightening. (Lightening is quite amazing at the ocean!) It was the kind of conditions where it is difficult to keep your windshield from fogging up. We continued on, hoping for a break in the rain and a chance to walk along the beach. When the rain finally did stop, the atmosphere was just magical! It was hauntingly beautiful, as if it were a dream or fantasy. It was humid but there was a sea breeze. It was dark and it was light at the same time like being on a dark stage under a spotlight. It seems to have left a permanent impression in my memory. I wonder if it always looks that way on all stormy days at the beach or if it was just that particular day. In this painting, I tried to capture the atmosphere of a warm summer day after a storm.

"Summer Hill" New Hampshire Countryside Meadow Apple Tree Wildflowers Original Painting

"Summer Hill"
Original Acrylic ACEO Painting
SOLD $30.
Prints Available

This is another scene of New Hampshire's beautiful, scenic, countryside. I drove by this just this morning, on Tilton Hill and felt inspired to paint it. Painting an art card is a great way to get my frequent inspirations onto paper right away and get some practice with the subject. I'll do a larger painting later. I think I'll do this more often.
